Media Center

Welcome to Showell's Media Center

Your school media website offers both printed and ebook titles.

  1. The Catalog tab is the search engine for printed books on our shelves. Search the catalog for titles, authors and subjects you are interested in. You may write down the call number (call #) for anything you hope to check out and look for it on your scheduled media day. Availability for titles may change. Plan to browse for other books if your selections are unavailable on your media day. Often times the call # leads us to other titles of interest on the same shelf. Book displays and peer suggestions can also inspire other good reads!

  1. Use the Virtual Library course to access ebooks (electronic books) through Destiny Discover. Log into Schoology, go to "Courses" and click on the Virtual Library course. If you do not see that course tile in the photos, check under "my courses" which lists all your courses in alphabetical order. If you still do not see the Virtual Library course, message Mrs. McCabe through Schoology and she will check that you are enrolled. All students and staff will have access to this course. Not only does the Virtual Library course connect you to our ebooks for reading online through Destiny Discover; it also connects you to kid-friendly databases like PebbleGo and Gale in Context where we can learn online about animals, science, people, places and more!

Media Expo 2022 is open for registration! Submit digital entries to your school librarian by January 18th.
Contact Mrs. McCabe through Class Dojo, by email, [email protected](dot)com, or schedule a phone call. She welcomes your questions and feedback. Mrs. McCabe thanks you for your time and support of our school media center.
